Origin of Gurgula

So, this is the blog's first post. I was going to tale a lottle longer to do it, but this has been pushed foward by the G+ exodus.

So what is this blog gonna be about? You know, dungeons and dragons.

More especifically about my homebrew LoTFP campaign and all the stuff that spawned from it. Flesh out a few things, homerules, use it as place to test out stuff that will be published, eventually.

Gurgula is a the plane of funghi and rot. The land of eternal festering, realm of neverending change, entropy manifest.

Accidentally created when an ancient race of beings dared to eat a god, this place drifts through the nether, now a jungle of funghi and disease ridding atop a divine body, where even time itself is being decomposed.

Humans, unlucky enough to have been transported here, the Qu and the urdead, all make their home here. Some use the blessing/curse of the guilty metal, rubedite, harvested from the congealed blood of this dead god, to protect themselves from the decomposing effects of this plane.

Some seek a way to control this plane, a way out, or a way to this rotting corpse heart, where ungodly amounts of rubedite lie in wait.

Later blogposts will delve deeper into this world and its more mechanical bits. My absolute favourite part of this place was its creation: all this happenned because of a failed summon spell. This goes to show the power of OSR style of play. This is emergent storytelling, without some cumbersome "story focused" rpg syatem.
